Rihanna’s legal team is taking action about these Jay Z affair rumors and shutting them down once and for all.

The recent revelation of a cleverly orchestrated rumor about Rihanna and Jay Z back in 2005 has caused quite the media storm. Making things all the more crazier was the admission of guilt by the publicist behind the rumor, Jonathan Hay, who publicly apologized for the trouble it caused. However, this revelation in itself is a fabrication according to Riri’s legal team, who are disputing the claims. In fact, they deny Jonathan ever worked for Rihanna!

“Hay was never Rihanna’s publicist or had any personal or professional relationship with her,” Rihanna’s lawyer Jordan Siev told Page Six.

Further confusing things, Vada Nobles, who produced and wrote the 2005 hit “Pon de Replay” denies ever working with or telling Jonathan to make the song a hit, as Jonathan claimed.

“I met this guy once, maybe twice . . . I did not hire Jonathan Hay to promote Rihanna [or] ‘Pon de Replay’ . . . He had nothing to do with Rihanna. Someone I knew referred this guy [to me as a publicist], I said, ‘Let’s see what he can do’ . . . He was using my name and what I was doing to get traction for himself.”

Meanwhile, it appears Jonathan is sticking to his claims, though clarifying, “I wasn’t Rihanna’s publicist, I was [the] publicist for her first single. She didn’t have a publicist . . . It was back in the day, she was nobody.”
